Laguna Hills Community Center, Laguna Hills, California
The city of Laguna Hills built its community and sports complex near one of the richest fossil sites in the United States. This 18,000,000 year old tropical shell reef and fossil resources was chosen as the theme for the project logo, wayfinding, and graphics, as well as the prehistoric themed playground. The Ginko leaf being the oldest known tree of prehistoric times became the logo brand for the community center symbolising the importance of the prehistoric site and fossil which can be viewed within the community center. A focal point for the cities recreational, leisure, and cultural interests, the Laguna Hills Community Center has become a great aset to the community.
